Have you ever sat with a person and thought "get a hold of yourself and live in the real world"?. I believe that the world is a little too short to think of oneself. There are other shit loads of things going on out there that a lot of us don't seem to care about. we, maybe even most of us, take things for granted. like the numerous scholarships offered to us on a plate, the subsidized oil and gas, rice, cooking oil, electricity, water, the lack of tax purchases and seriously, the list is ENDLESS when it comes to the things we all take for granted. if anyone pays attention the news they'd probably stop whining and actually say "Syukur Alhamdulillah".
it sickens me sometimes to hear people moan and complain about how horrible their life is just because their parents won't get them new shoes "just because" they want it. it's pretty understandable that people have wants and needs but if you can't get it then why complain? if you can't afford it and if it isn't important then don't get it. when i was younger and naive my mum would always say "sudah kau beduit tah kau bali sendiri" and back then i'd be pretty angry at her when she didn't get me the new whatever that i couldn't live without and now that i think about it i'm pretty greatful for her not spoiling me so much because it has made me more independent and to know how to rely on myself and not burden anyone else except for unavoidable circumstances in which i have to ask for help.
in my opinion, if the kids today can see this; can see how good we have it, how fortunate we are to be living in a country where it isn't war torn, where it isn't plagued with so many natural disasters, crime and all the other things that are happening in other countries then maybe, just maybe they'd be more happy, content and not wanting to kill themselves just because they can't do whatever or go wherever or get whatever.
sometimes i regret not heeding the words of my parents but i've grown up and realise that i've got it good despite the things that has happened.
people, seriously think about it. is life really as bad as you think it is? you might say "it isn't me who's poor and living under a bridge so why should i care?". it isn't about the caring(it would be great though if you did care), it's about the realisation that you have to be thankful for what you already have.
muchos love, awesome's.
